Donna Davis grew up in Queens, New York, where she developed a great love of the ocean and beach. Ms. Davis did her undergraduate studies at New York Institute of Technology on Long Island and then became Dr. Davis at New York Chiropractic College. She graduated with an award in Meritorious Service. Dr. Davis then moved to Manhattan and was in private practice for 14 years.
After a visit to Aspen, Colorado, she decided to move out west. The area was extraordinarily beautiful and hard to resist. The mountains were new to her, and the outdoor lifestyle, not common in New York City, was refreshing and invigorating.
While living in the Aspen area she has worked for the Aspen Skiing Company and the Aspen Institute. She is a certified massage therapist, health coach and now author. She’s volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and English in Action.
Ms. Davis, now in her late 50’s realized that retirement was not far off. Knowing very little about the process, she researched what she considered to be the important aspects for her future. Looking at the wealth of information she had in front of her, she decided to share it with the hope that it would help other baby boomers who were struggling.
Ms. Davis has lived in Colorado for 17 years, but gets her beach fix by visiting New York every summer and will attest that New York has some of the best beaches in the world.
In the past, Ms. Davis has traveled to many parts of the world. Her favorite trip was to the Galapagos Islands. She loved being so close to the wildlife. She found the unique creatures fascinating and unafraid. She is partial to the blue footed booby and the sea lion that made itself at home in the boat while she snorkeled.
Ms. Davis is a skier, hiker, and traveler. She also snorkels and dives. She loves the mountains as well as the ocean. She currently lives in Snowmass Village, Colorado, with her dog Shanti.
